ABOUT THE ARTIST & THE PROCESS
Javier de la Rosa (b. 1984, Madrid, lives and works in London, UK) graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid (2007). De la Rosa explores the passing of time and the pulse of life through the study of both human and animal natures.
De la Rosa’s skilled sculptures stand out for their ability to convey emotions through bronze, crafted using the lost-wax technique and polished by hand with the utmost care. Every curve and surface not only reflects the form of the animal but also the artist’s sensitivity in capturing the essence of life.
The delicacy in the modelling of the bronze captures the softness of the lines and envelops the volume in a subtle manner, evoking an immediate connection with the viewer. With this sculpture, Javier de la Rosa succeeds in transforming an everyday object into a work of art that invites for reflection and visual enjoyment.
Javier de la Rosa's works have been acquired by prestigious collections such as the Antonio Gala Foundation, the Rodríguez-Acosta Foundation, Jacinto Higueras Museum and the Valdepeñas Museum, among others.
